Purpose: The Government of Yukon’s Environmental Programs Branch regulates contaminated sites under the Contaminated Sites Regulation and the Environment Act. The information in this layer is a summary of contaminated sites information collected due to triggers under these statutes.

Lineage statement: This dataset was created through a compilation and review of contaminated sites information obtained through spill reporting and Environment Act permits. A central database was created for all sites. This database is regularly updated by Environmental Protection Analysts as site files are created and updated. Site information is not updated in real-time as it must go through a review process.
